About

Rod Berger, PsyD, has spent his career in the chair opposite someone else. More than 4,000 interviews across five continents, and a rare gift for getting people to say what they did not plan to say.

He has sat with the late Pope Francis, with Fortune 500 chief executives, with Hall of Famers Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley, with Sammy Hagar of Van Halen, and with people in Ugandan refugee camps whose stories no one had ever asked to hear. His range is the point. He hosted galas and research summits across the Nordics, served as the inaugural host of the Nordic Climate Finance Summit in Oslo, and guest lectured at Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management on storytelling in business for nearly two decades.

Rod wrote The Narrative Edge: Authentic Storytelling That Meets The Moment for Wiley. He wrote for Forbes, Entrepreneur, and Los Angeles Magazine, and currently serves as Editor-at-Large at Fair Observer and hosts three podcasts. He received the Pangea International Literacy Award.

Here is the problem he solves. Most corporate events run the same script: the chief executive delivers rehearsed remarks, and the room politely waits for the coffee break. The audience never meets the person. Rod changes the format. He conducts a live, unscripted conversation that pulls the leader out from behind the talking points, with no gotcha moments and no press-release answers. What the audience gets is access. What the organization gets is footage that keeps working long after the lights come up.

Testimonials

"Dr. Rod Berger's interview with Opal Lee at the 2025 American Camp Association Conference was extraordinary. Some interviewers center themselves, but not Rod. He is instead like the light at the end of the day—'magic hour light'—that makes everything look warmer and more appealing. His thoughtful questions and engaging style created a space for deep reflection, inspiration, and heartfelt storytelling, allowing Opal Lee's wisdom and passion to shine. It was more than an interview; it was a masterclass on how to lead with curiosity, respect, authenticity, and story. His approach reminds us of the power of meaningful conversation to illuminate history, elevate voices, and inspire action."
