Entrepreneur, Bestselling Author & Future-of-Work Leader — champion of a human-centered economy in the age of AI.

Andrew Yang is the co-founder of the Forward Party, a new independent political movement dedicated to restoring the promise of US democracy. A Democratic presidential candidate in 2020, he is the founder of Humanity Forward and Venture for America. His New York Times bestseller The War on Normal People helped introduce the idea of universal basic income into the political mainstream, and his most recent book, Forward: Notes on the Future of Our Democracy, became a national bestseller. He is also co-author of the political thriller The Last Election.

After being a corporate lawyer for five short months, joining a few start-ups, and even launching his own company, Andrew eventually became CEO of an education company that became #1 in the country. He then started a national entrepreneurship non-profit, Venture for America, which worked to empower thousands of young entrepreneurs to bring economic dynamism to cities like Detroit, Cleveland, Baltimore, Birmingham, St. Louis, and others around the country. Leading the organization to become a national multi-million dollar charity, Andrew was named a Presidential Ambassador of Entrepreneurship by the White House under the Obama administration and a Champion of Change for his leadership.

After seeing the devastation that automation and the fourth industrial revolution were doing to the American workforce, Andrew decided to run for President in late 2017. Initially dubbed a "longer than long shot" candidate by The New York Times, Andrew's grassroots support, known as the “Yang Gang,” propelled him to seven Democratic primary debates, outpolling and outlasting six senators, four governors, three members of congress, two mayors, and one secretary.

With a vision to rewrite the rules of the United States economy through a “Freedom Dividend” of $1,000 a month for every American adult, Andrew’s movement around Universal Basic Income and Cash Relief engaged over 3 million combined social media followers, raised nearly $40 million dollars in an average of $35 increments, and become one of the most exciting stories in the 2020 race., According to CNN, Andrew Yang’s campaign "didn't just make history... [it] unquestionably put a sizable dent in the future as well."

As an activist, Andrew has turned his movement into a political reality, launching a non-profit, Humanity Forward, that has successfully lobbied Congress to bring billions of dollars in cash relief and stimulus checks to millions of Americans in need.

Andrew is the author of three books, including his newest work, Forward, outlining the problems in our broken system and a way forward to prevent the decline of American Democracy. He currently lives in Manhattan with his wife Evelyn and two boys, is an avid basketball fan, a commentator on CNN, and host of a weekly podcast, Forward.

How Stories from the Table Can Transform Communities and the World

World-renowned chef and cultural anthropologist Andrew Zimmern has traveled to over 100 countries uncovering the universal truth that food is more than nourishment — it’s a language of connection, empathy, and change. Through vivid stories from the frontlines of global kitchens and humanitarian efforts, Andrew demonstrates how acts of sharing, sustainability, and inclusion can address issues of hunger, equity, and belonging.

Audiences leave inspired to see their own work — whether in nonprofits, philanthropy, or corporate citizenship — as part of a larger ecosystem of impact.

Key Audience Takeaways
  • How food systems mirror human systems — and what leaders can learn about empathy, adaptability, and inclusion.
  • Real-world strategies for sustainability and community partnership that drive measurable outcomes.
  • Storytelling frameworks that connect donors and communities through shared purpose.
  • A new lens for viewing generosity — one meal, one story, one promise at a time.

The Adventure of Recovery

Stay far away from what William James called the evil of "contempt prior to investigation". ANDREW ZIMMERN has used this motto as a bedrock of both his personal and professional life. While most people know him as the host of his own wildly popular TV show, they might not know that he is also a survivor of drug addiction, alcoholism, and homelessness.

Now in his 21st year of sobriety, his inspiring and funny story is a prescription for hope that can be applied to anyone regardless of their life situation. Zimmern grew up on the upper east side of NYC, was a daily drug user from the age of 15, and lay dying in a hospital bed at age 21 of acute alcohol poisoning. He continued to abuse drugs and booze for another 10 years before going homeless and off the grid in 1990. Drinking himself to death in a flop house hotel in January of 1992, he had a life-changing experience that saw him check into rehab, sober up, and stay clean. Devoting himself to helping others, his life changed, and his show Bizarre Foods is a direct result of his channeling that life choice, telling his stories through food and travel adventures.

Zimmern combines his personal and professional stories in an audio and video presentation detailing his fall and rise, his experiences in recovery, and how those lessons have informed his life as a husband, adoptive father and activist for the social issues he holds dearest. Zimmern believes that the best way to change the world is to share a meal with a stranger and his family, telling stories from the fringe as you seek to learn about the world and yourself in the global classroom of the traveler's universe. His funny and inspiring message spans both the personal and the professional, and he gladly exemplifies the necessity for a public face to be put on the private hell of addiction.

Highlights

  • Emmy and 4× James Beard Award Winner; named one of AdWeek’s 50 Most Influential Voices in Food and Fast Company’s Top 30 Most Creative People in Business.
